Berrichon - RAW
This is a breed of sheep which was originally developed in France, believed to derive from Merinos and Leicesters in the late 1700s!
These are hornless sheep which have white heads, fleeces and legs.
They typically have a short staple, thick and quite downy fleece.
Their fleece is soft enough to spin but it's best job is for cushion/toy stuffing as washed and dried or carded wool. It can also be nicely blended with other breeds for wearable fibres in clothing.
Average Fleece Weight: 2-3 KG
Average Staple length: 1-2 inches.
Micron Range: 30-32
